This design is for the Singer Featherweight 221. I have named it after a dear friend and an amazing quilter, Jane Prestidge. It was her idea to make a design for the Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine.
The file includes two designs. One is the front view (Size: 32”x24”) and the second one is the side view (Size: 22”x24”).
I incorporated its specialty badge “Century of Progress Chicago 1934" when it made its debut at the Chicago World's Fair in the front view. This also includes the Celtic knot decal design on the bed and the front handwheel cover. The border of the design is my interpretation of the Celtic Knot design used on the bed of the machine. The front view is divided up into 8 segments so that people who have longarm with shorter throat depth, they can use this design too.
The side view has the scroll faceplate design. It has 7 segments.
It has I kept the design of the machine simple so that it doesn’t take away from its distinct features. The only points to match are in the radiating lines in the background. I kept a buffer zone between different segments for ease of quilting.
